\u00a0 \u00a0 The School of Learning Informatics is affiliated with the College of Education, National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU). Founded in 2018, the School of Learning Informatics aims to integrate relevant academic programs in the field of Learning Sciences and Information in NTNU. The main office is located in the Education Building inside NTNU Main Campus II (also known as Library Campus).
\u00a0 \u00a0 The School of Learning Informatics is consisted of one undergraduate program and two post-graduate programs, including Program of Learning Sciences, Graduate Institute of Information and Computer Education and Graduate Institute of Library and Information Studies. Currently, there are over 20 faculty members in the School and their research concentrations cover a wide range of contemporary issues in the field of learning sciences such as e-learning, computer education, science education, educational psychology, information communication, and information management.
\u00a0 \u00a0 The School of Learning Informatics is striving to cultivate academics and professionals in the field of learning sciences by innovating new forms and applications of learning through information and communication technology, developing the managerial and research talents in knowledge services, and conducting pioneering research in knowledge preservation, organization, value creation, dissemination, and management in the current knowledge-based society.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Program of Learning Sciences<\/strong>
\u00a0 \u00a0 The Program of Learning Sciences is newly established at National Taiwan Normal University to cultivate professionals in the field of learning sciences, such as data scientists, data analysts, data engineers, and software engineers whose aim involves researching and improving human learning experiences. This program currently is the first in Taiwan that offers professional courses in learning sciences.

Graduate Institute of Library and Information Studies<\/strong>
\u00a0 \u00a0 The groundwork of the Taiwan\u2019s first education effort in Library and Information Studies(LIS) began in 1955, as an undergraduate track within the Department of Adult and Continuing Education at the National Taiwan Normal University.To nurture advanced talents for library and information services in meeting the needs of our knowledge-based society, the University established an independent Graduate Institute of Library and Information Studies in 2002.
\u00a0 \u00a0 In 2005, we initiated the In-service Master Program of Library and Information Studies, providing professional development opportunities for in-service library and information service practitioners, with emphasis on knowledge and skills of information technologies.Cooperating with the University\u2019s Fine Arts Department, History Department and Chinese Department, in 2006 we launched the Digital Content and Creative Teaching Advanced Certification Program, for further promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and nurturing digital content talents.
\u00a0 \u00a0 The Institute was granted the permission by the Minister of Education in 2008 to launch the Ph.D. program, and recruited doctorate students for the first cohort in June 2009.The goal of our Ph.D. program is to nurture innovative talents for research and leadership in library and information services, in responding to the paradigm shift of library and information research, as well as the trends in the digital society.
\u00a0 \u00a0 In 2016, GLIS at NTNU has become a member of iSchool which is an international consortium of Information Schools dedicated to advancing the information field on the broad subjects about the interaction among people, information, and technology.

Graduate Institute of Information and Computer Education<\/strong>
\u00a0 \u00a0 The master’s program of ICE started in 1991 and the Ph.D. program in 1997. During 2017 academic year.
Our mission is to prepare students at the master’s and doctoral levels to become leaders in the professions of e-learning and computer education. Students focusing on e-learning studies are expected to graduate with adequate knowledge and skills to promote e-learning and be able to contribute to the modernization of education and training systems. Students concentrating on computer education studies shall acquire professional competence in implementing technology-enhanced learning and computer science education at all school levels. This is accomplished by providing a high-quality, comprehensive educational experience for our students.
\u00a0 \u00a0 The master’s program requires completion of no less than 28 credits and a master’s thesis, whereas students in the Ph.D. program are required to complete 24 credits of coursework and a dissertation.
The faculty members of ICE are dedicated to their fields of expertise. They also play the leading role in the development of our nation\u2019s e-learning and computer education by actively participating in the related policy-making.
